Flood

The Sacramento Region has some of the highest flood risks in the nation. Some experts believe our risk of a catastrophic flood is higher than for New Orleans prior to Hurricane Katrina. All flood insurance is covered under a FEMA program, so the rates are the same for any carrier. We encourage all of our clients to evaluate their own risk for flood damage and seriously consider purchasing flood insurance. There are many homes in this area, not in official flood zones, that could be damaged by a serious flood. In addition, flood policies have a 30-day waiting period, so if you wait until it starts raining and the water’s rising, you’ve probably waited too long.
